“That is why I assure that we (Sarawak government) will not hinder, we will facilitate such development,” he told reporters after co-chairing a meeting of the Action Council, a joint Sarawak-Federal Government Action Committee at Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday.

He said if the Federal government have any concrete projects that are being hindered, then they must present proof.

“Which is why we have the joint committee like this to work together for the benefit of Sarawak. So, why should we disturb the project implementation,” he said.

During the meeting which was also attended by Works Minister Baru Bian, who is co-chairman of the committee, Uggah assured that all projects in Sarawak would be implemented smoothly and speedily for the benefit of the people.

“Somebody accused us as you know.  But the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government wants to ensure that whatever funds available from Putrajaya will be used to benefit us,” he pointed out.

Uggah said meeting was a fruitful one and the committee was briefed on the progress of implementation of the dilapidated schools project in Sarawak.

“It is going on well. A committee has been set up to make sure that the project will be implemented as soon as possible,” he added.
