The condition of the fountain pool at Kuching Waterfront after vandals threw detergent into it.

KUCHING: The Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) will not hesitate to take harsh action against anyone who causes damage to public property.

Members of the public were cautioned by the commission not to become engaged in activities that destroy public property.

In a recent statement, its director Mohamed Khaidir Abang stated that DBKU would not hesitate to pursue full legal action.

The remark was made in response to an incident on Thursday night when a fountain pool at the Kuching Waterfront was vandalised, causing the water to foam.

“This could harm the equipment in the fountain pool.

“A police report has been filed by DBKU for further investigation.

“The alleged perpetrators’ acts were captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) security cameras in the area,” he pointed out.
