KUCHING: The Natural Resource and Environmental Board (NREB) recently launched the “Building High Performance Team Culture 2024” initiative to foster a culture of excellence among its staff.

This programme aimed to imbue Sarawak Civil Servants (SPANS) with a strong sense of teamwork, aligning with the organisation’s vision, mission, and core values.

Held from February 16 to 18 at the Permai Rainforest Resort, the event drew participation from 99 NREB employees from various ranks throughout the state.

Environmental Quality Controller Jack Liam said this programme was crucial for NREB as a leading enforcement body especially as the organisation tackles new responsibilities under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) and adapts to the expanded autonomy granted by the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). This autonomy includes scheduled waste management and tasks related to the Environment (Reduction of Greenhouse Emission) Ordinance, 2023.
