MIRI: It was unexpected hope for an octogenarian, Sipadi Bulat from Kampung Pintasan Tiris, when she received a new house recently.

Sipadi, 80, a farmer, is one the recipients registered under the e-kasih programme who received the new house for the poor programme carried out by the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB).

Its construction had begun on October 14 last year and was completed on January 10 this year.

The single -storey house has three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.

The simple handing over of the house key was done yesterday by Subis District Officer Norlaila Ulis to Sipadi witnessed by Deputy Minister of Women, Family, Welfare , Community wellbeing and Childhood Development Datuk Rosey Yunus.

Rosey when met later said that the application for the house was made by Sipadi’s late husband in 2022.

Meanwhile, Sipadi was grateful and expressed her thanks to the state government for approving her late husband’s application (for the house).
