SRI AMAN: A two-vehicle collision along KM23, Jalan Sri Aman-Serian, resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries yesterday (May 12).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre said firemen from the Sri Aman station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 7.15pm.

“Upon arriving, they discovered that a high-powered motorcycle had collided head-on with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), causing both victims to be flung out onto the road,” Bomba said in a statement.

The motorcyclist, 21-year-old Beck Veron Ramping, was killed as a result of the collision. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

His 14-year-old pillion rider and the MPV’s 60-year-old driver both sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital using the Bomba Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) vehicle.
