LUNDU: A new agricultural road will be built at Tingowan, Kampung Stungkor Lama to help villagers work on idle native customary rights land.

Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang said the state government has approved a ceiling allocation of RM500,000 to build the two-kilometre stretch.

“This project will make it easier for the villagers to utilise their idle NCR land for agriculture,” he said in a Facebook posting recently.

He said villagers who do so will be able to generate household income when their agricultural produce is harvested in future.

He said several villages in the constituency have and will similarly benefit from agricultural roads built at a total value of RM5,850,000.

“The projects in some of these villages will be implemented in 2024.

“I am prioritising the construction of agricultural roads to ensure uncultivated NCR lands in the interior part can be cultivated,” he added.
