One of the four men arrested for possessing a plastic packet containing crystalline substances after an 'Ops Bersepadu' was carried out around the district.

BAU: Four unemployed men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in drug activities during an ‘Ops Bersepadu’ in the district.

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the operations carried out by the narcotics CID team, took place from 8am on Friday (Mar 19) until 8am the following day.

The first arrest took place in a house at Kampung Plaman Sibuluh when the team noticed a man acting suspiciously.

“The 44-year-old man was brought to Bau NCID office for urine test and was found positive for drugs.

“Background checks later found that the man had a past record,” he said.

The team also arrested a 19-year-old man believed to be involved in substance abuse activities, in a house at Kampung Grogo.

Upon inspections, the team found a plastic packet containing crystalline substances and seized it as evidence. The man tested positive for drugs.

Poge said the man who have a past record, will be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The third and fourth arrests took place at a roadside in Kampung Kranji.

Poge pointed out that apart from the arrests, the police teams also carried out vehicle inspections around Taman Tasik Biru, Bau Town and the villages to detect drugs.
