Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen disclosed that the competition, organised by Extreme Table Tennis Professional Centre, would be held at the centre located behind HSBC here on June 25 and 26.

“The competition is sponsored by my office. The purpose is to promote the sport of table tennis and provide a platform for players, especially Sarawakians, to compete and improve.

“Besides that, it’s also to promote sports among our youths and shape a healthy society. This is why one of the rules is, each team must have players under the age of 15,” he said in a social media post yesterday (June 14).

He added that besides teams from within Sarawak, there would also be teams from other states.

“In addition to table tennis competitions, my office will also hold other sports events in the constituency, including badminton and basketball.”
