KUCHING: The Kuching Festival’s Martial Arts Display went with full power as around 1,119 people participated to display the beauty and grace of various martial arts forms.

A total of 16 martial arts organisations, including the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), were on the field to showcase their skills in self-defense while at the same time promoting a healthy lifestyle and diversity of culture.

In his speech, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said the event was not just about physical prowess but embodied the essence of discipline, dedication, and respect among martial artists.

“Each form that we will witness tonight carries with it a legacy of tradition, culture, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

“We are privileged to witness an array of well-known martial arts forms that have transcended time and boundaries,” he said.

“It serves as a reminder that martial arts are not just about physical skills but also nurture mental fortitude and camaraderie.

“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated practitioners, instructors, and organisers who have worked tirelessly to bring this extraordinary showcase to life.
