Over 101k individuals have received second booster dose

KUCHING: A total of 101,313 eligible individuals have received their second COVID-19 booster dose as of Jan 2, 2024 in Sarawak.

According to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) KKMNOW website, the figure equals to 3.6 per cent of the total population in the state.

While a total of 1,594,865 or 56.5 per cent eligible individuals have received their first booster dose as of Jan 2 this year.

Based on the website also, a total of 27,550,630 individuals have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination while 28,137,610 received the first dose.

Meanwhile, according to the MOH’s official Facebook wall, Home Surveillance Order (HSO) is given for five days from the date of onset of symptoms for positive cases of COVID-19.

“For example, if symptoms start on December 1 but the result is only positive for COVID-19 on December 3, HSO will be given from December 1 to 5.

“All employers are urged to adopt the HSO digital certificate. HSO’s digital certificate is valid under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Act [Act 342].

“Employers are also strongly encouraged to allow employees who are symptomatic but have tested negative for COVID-19 to work from home,” it said on Wednesday.

MOH also stated that individuals who are given digital HSO need to take a screenshot of the screen display for the information of the employer.

“Employees are also advised to honestly report their COVID-19 status,” it added.
