KUCHING : More than 400 traffic officers and personnels will be stationed throughout the state during the 20th ‘Ops Selamat’.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department head Supt Bingkok John said the Ops Selamat advocacy campaign and programme will go on until Apr 27 in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration.

“The advocacy programme is conducted up to the northern parts of Sarawak until Miri.

“It will also be done by the district police in Sarawak to reduce the number of accidents,” he told reporters during the Op Selamat Hari Raya advocacy programme held at Shell station, Mile 17, Jalan Kuching-Serian here on today (Apr 21).

Bingkok also urged the public to plan their destinations ahead and exercise caution especially during the festive period.

“I hope that road users will drive safely and plan their journey ahead and arrive safely to their destinations,” he said.

Meanwhile, he reminded the public to pay their traffic summonses at all traffic counters at any nearest district police headquarters.
