KUCHING: The Pahang state government has expressed full support in ensuring the smooth running of the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) and Para Sukma XXI hosted by Sarawak.

Pahang State Communications and Multimedia, Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman Fadzli Mohamad Kamal said Pahang has committed to participating in 36 events.

“Pahang will bring a large delegation comprising a total of 884 individuals, including athletes, coaches and officials to Sarawak next August.

“For this Sukma, Pahang is very serious about improving its position. We were once in ninth place, so we are making early preparations this time to improve that position.

“We see that the organisation is on the right track this time, and Pahang will strive tirelessly in Sarawak later.

“We have also established close cooperation between the Pahang Sports Council and person-in-charge in Sarawak to ensure that this matter runs smoothly, as these nine localities need to be managed well in terms of land and air transportation.”
