KUCHING: The Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway project is 88 per cent completed, according to caretaker Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

According to him, the first phase of the Pan Borneo Highway from Telok Melano to Miri with a length of 786km had been completed.

“Of the first phase’s 786km, 215km are dual carriageways which have been completed.

“Two more sections in Selangau and Pantu are expected to be fully opened in November,” he said.

He revealed this at a press conference on the performance and issues arising from the Pan Borneo Highway project held at a hotel here yesterday.

He added that there were issues concerning several sections of the projects but assured that a task force had been formed to address the challenges.

“The completed work packages for the Pan Borneo Highway include Work Package One involving the roads from Telok Melano to Sematan and Work Package 10 involving Nyabau flyover Section, among others,” he said.
