SARIKEI: The Sarawak government will implement the upgrading and restoration project for the Sarikei passenger terminal at Terminal 1 to improve the safety of users and water transport facilities.

Huang, who is also Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, conducted a working visit to the passenger terminal recently.

During the visit, he was briefed about the upgrading and restoration project by Sarawak Rivers Board Sarikei division deputy port manager Mohammad Fadzli Noh.

The Sarawak Rivers Board viewed with the terminal being upgraded, it will increase the number of docked ships and boost the income of the residents.

As a safety measure during the upgrading project, the jetty excavation area will be marked as a restricted zone, and special signs will be placed to prevent any unwanted incidents.
