KOTA SAMARAHAN: An elderly pedestrian was killed after being knocked by an unknown vehicle along KM20, Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa yesterday.
Kota Samarahan police chief DSP Brodie Brangka when contacted, said the accident happened at around 6.30 am when the victim was crossing the road from the road divider.
Preliminary investigation found that the 57-year-old was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road.
“Following that, the vehicle immediately fled the scene and left passers-by to attend to the victim.
“However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and his body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem examination,” he said.
Member of the public who witnessed the accident, are advised to come forward and channel information to Kota Samarahan traffic police station or contact the station at 082-662101.
Brodie pointed out that the case is still being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
