SERIAN: An elderly pedestrian died from severe injuries after she was allegedly hit by an unidentified vehicle along KM80, Jalan Kuching-Sri Aman yesterday.
Serian police chief DSP Aswandy Anis in a statement, said they received information around 6.20 am regarding a hit-and-run accident, which resulted in the death of a 67-year-old woman.
“We call upon the public to channel information pertaining to the case by contacting Sub-inspector Adrian Francis at 019-8347530 or 082-874260.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
Identified as Singgot Lumba, 67, the victim was crossing the road when she was hit by a vehicle travelling from Serian.
Because of that, the victim sustained severe head and body injuries at the scene.
Paramedics confirmed that the victim died at the scene and her body was taken to Serian Hospital for post-mortem.
