People know they can count on Abang Jo, says Fatimah

KUCHING: Dalat assemblywoman Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said Sarawakians gave Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg and GPS a handsome win because he walks the talk.

“Our Chief Minister and GPS have won a big mandate, winning 76 out of 82 seats, and it is indeed a very handsome win,” she said at the Sarawak Welfare Department’s Appreciation Hi Tea function here on Wednesday (Dec 22).

“We know the society wants a stable government especially during this difficult time and the state government is committed to catching up with its development plans and Abang Jo has convinced the people that Sarawak will become a developed state by 2030,” she added.

Fatimah said irrespective of whether she remained in the new government line up, she would continue to assist those in her constituency.

In the same breath she also thanked the department’s staff and the voters for their unwavering support.

“We know that it is very important for the chief minister to have a good team as well as have a strategic plan to develop Sarawak,” she added.

Meanwhile, 55 recipients comprising 22 from Sarawak and 33 from the Federal Territory received awards at the function which was also attended by the department’s director Noriah Ahmad.
