KUALA LUMPUR: Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation authority, has included Petronas president and Group CEO Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, (pic) for the first time, into its list of the 100 best global Brand Guardians for 2019.

With his inclusion in the list, he now joins other big names such as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Google’s Sundar Pichai and Shell’s Ben Van Beurden.

Wan Zulkiflee, ranked #95 in the world, received the recognition by Brand Finance due to his visionary leadership, prudent management and successful track record in steering the national oil and gas company.

Petronas Group Strategic Communications media engagement unit in a media statement said the Petronas group CEO was also credited for successfully bringing the industry forward through some of the most turbulent and challenging years in recent times.

Based on the world’s top companies by portfolio brand value, extracted from the Brand Finance Global 500 2019, the new ranking rates CEOs to capture how well they measure up as brand managers.
