KUCHING: Petrosains celebrates its 25th anniversary at Petrosains PlaySmart Kuching from March1 to 3, paying tribute to visitors and communities for their support.

Throughout the three-day carnival, Petrosains will hold various activities and workshops for visitors to participate in.

Today (Mar 1), more than 100 children accompanied by their parents visited the carnival.

A visitor, Firdaus Morni, said the visit was a good exposure for his children, especially during the school holidays.

“The school holidays will last two weeks and it is ideal for the children to come here to experience the world of science and at the same time instill their interest in learning more about it.

“I can say by watching my children going around and try new things here, I think they will be interested in learning more about science,” he said.

At the same time, he hopes that with such exposure, children can get to know the world of science, especially in relation to STEM subjects.

Another parent, Jusliana Cese, also shared the same view that the programme benefits the children during the school holidays.

“Actually, we always come here, but this time it’s a little special with the carnival being held.

“So there are a lot of interesting activities for the children to participate in,” said Jusliana.

Among the activities that will be held throughout the carnival is the Science Show themed Eat-Prey-Love Show and Water Show.

Pancasains: P25 Smart Lamp, Ecofeast, Mangrove Marvels and Wildlife Warrior will also be held throughout the three days.

On the first day, Petrosains held the Robo Bug Workshop, while on the second day, there will be a workshop titled 25th Birthday Cake LED Lantern and the Little Creature Workshop.

“The carnival is aimed at paying tribute to our visitors and communities near and far that have supported and cheered us on over the last 25 years since Petrosains, The Discovery Centre at Suria Kuala Lumpur City Centre opened its doors to the public in 1999.
