Plantation worker reported missing found safe

BELAGA: A plantation worker, who was reported missing on June 19 at Ladang Danum Sinar in Metalun, Belaga, was found on the second day of a search and rescue (SAR) operation today (23 June).

The victim, identified as Sudirman Arshad, a male Indonesian national was found in safe condition in block 73.

In a joint effort by the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (MFRD), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and plantation workers, a SAR operation was conducted to locate the missing individual at Ladang Danum Sinar.

According to a press statement, the joint operation which commenced on June 22, culminated in the safe recovery of the missing worker.

“The worker was reported missing on June 19, prompting the authorities to take immediate action.

“Dividing themselves into three groups, the dedicated teams meticulously scoured the vicinity spanning from blocks 71 to 82 in search of the missing individual.

“A significant breakthrough occurred at 9.30 am on the second day of the operation when plantation workers informed the MFRD team that the victim had been found in block 73,” it said.

They went on site and confirmed the location of the victim, who was later handed over to the police for further necessary action.
