MIRI: The police here have arrested a housebreaking suspect and seized 15 types of valuable items including six branded wristwatches believed to be stolen during a raid dubbed “Ops Pintu”.
The suspect, 41, was picked up by a team from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in front of his rented house at Jalan Aru here on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest was made last Tuesday around 3.30pm. According to sources, the suspect was allegedly involved in a housebreaking incident which was reported to have occurred on Feb 7 at Interhill Park.

In the incident, items and valuables worth RM33,200 were stolen including two elephant tusks bracelets, a leopard’s teeth worth RM1,000, an elephant’s teeth, six luxury wristwatches and various currencies totalling RM15,000.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.
