KUCHING: Police arrested 11 persons for involvement in online gambling in Gita here last Sunday (Jan 29).
Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said five men were locals while another five men and a woman were foreigners.
“The operation codenamed ‘Ops Dadu’ was a two-day operation from Jan 28 to 29 conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
“The 11 suspects were taken to the police station for questioning,” he said.
He added that 11 phones and money amounting to RM2,296 were seized as evidence.
“The case is being investigated under Section 4 (1)(c) ,Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.”
