Preacher’s enlightening lecture draws over 2,000 Muslims

KUCHING: Over 2,000 Muslim women gathered at the Sarawak Islamic Complex here to witness the insightful teachings of renowned preacher from the Nusantara, Professor Dr Ustaz Abdul Somad today.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is also the advisor to the ‘Kembara Cinta Rasul’ programme, was also in attendance to warmly welcome Ustaz Abdul Somad during the Special Muslimah Programme: The Path of Muslimah Towards Heaven.

Meanwhile, the vicinity around Jalan P. Ramlee started to fill up at around 7 am, indicating the enthusiasm of the attendees eagerly awaiting the commencement of the programme at 11 am.

The event commenced with a performance by a marhaban group, praising the Prophet Muhammad SAW and inviting attendees to join in recitations and blessings to honour the occasion.

Following the performance, the event began with a brief introduction of Ustaz Abdul Somad before proceeding to the forum-style programme.

The knowledge-sharing session, lasting approximately one hour from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm unquestionably delivered a wide range of benefits to the Muslims present at the event.

The programme was also graced by the presence of the wife of Sarawak Premier, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Brahim, who is also the chairman of the ‘Kembara Cinta Rasul’ steering committee, was also present.

Additionally, notable figures present at the event included federal Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri; Women, Early Childhood and Community Well-being Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah; and Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Syed Aman Ghazali, among others.

The three-day programme, running from September 30 to October 2, will offer a diverse range of engaging content for the local community in the Kuching area.
