KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is a visionary leader who will definitely bring Sarawak to further progress.

“Our premier has big plans for Sarawak. I am confident that he will lead Sarawak to a developed state status by 2030,” said Sikh Temple Kuching president Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira.

He said this when met by the media after hosting a Diwali open house at his residence here on Monday (Oct 24).

He also praised Abang Johari for having commendable characteristics and leadership skills while always putting Sarawak and its people his top priority.

“He is a leader who always contributes to the development of the state and its people.

“This is what we need for the future of Sarawak,” he applauded.

Meanwhile, on another matter, Dr Khaira hoped that Deepavali festival will be declared a public holiday in the state in the near future.

“This matter has always been raised, but we are confident that the Premier is doing his best in trying to gazette it as a public holiday,” he said.
