KUCHING: Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang welcomed over 13,000 attendees at their Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today (Apr 10).

Abang Johari pointed out the higher turnout for this year compared to last year, noting the unity among diverse communities in Sarawak.

“This turnout reflects our unity, especially with guests from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.

“This is a time when Sarawak’s communities are very cohesive, and we must preserve this unity, especially considering the divisive sentiments that are prevalent and being exploited by certain parties.

“Despite challenges, Sarawak remains resilient, as we have many initiatives to pursue, particularly in achieving our goal of being a strong region within Malaysia,” he told reporters during the event.
