LAWAS: The Lun Bawang Cultural and Basic Dance Workshop 2022 should be continuously held to ensure the culture and dance of the Lun Bawang community will not be forgotten in future.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) news report, the Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sim Agong praised the effort of Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Ba’kelalan branch which held the workshop at Trusan Community Hall, recently.

He said it was indeed a good move by the organisation.

“The culture and dance of the Lun Bawang community should be taught to the current generation of youth and children who will inherit this tradition in the future.

“Just like the culture and dance of other tribes in Sarawak, the Lun Bawang community actually has various protocols to be performed where there are some in the form of singing, poetry and many more,” he said.

Henry, who is also the Deputy Minister of Transport, hoped that such kind of workshops would be held continuously so that the younger generation became more involved in the future.
