KUCHING: Three out of four top seeded pairs crashed out of the 38th Premier Sarawak Cup ITF World Tennis Tour Junior J300 (J1) doubles action on Friday as upsets continue to happen here at Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA).

Number six seed Quang Duong (USA) and Jeremy Zhang (AUS) took out third seeded pair Amir Milushev (UZB) and Yuvan Nandal (India) with ease by 6-3, 6-1.

They will face South Korean number four seed pair of JeongYeon Su and Kim Jang Jun in the boys doubles final on Saturday, who themselves caused an upset by toppling down second seed Michal Krajci (SVK) and Patrick Schoen (SUI) by 7-5, 6-4 in two hard-fought sets.

Meanwhile in girls’ doubles semi final, fourth seed Polish pair Daria Gorska and Zuzanna Pawlikowska marched on into the final on Saturday by defeating unseeded pair Alana Subasic (AUS) and Amy Sucha (CZE) 6-3, 6-1 in quick fashion.

Number eight seed Salakthip Ounmuang and Lidia Podgorichani from Thailand will join the Polish pair in the final on Saturday, after causing an upset of their own against the first seed pair Emerson Jones and Lily Taylor in theirlast four bout where they defeated the Australian top seeded pair by 4-6, 6-2, [10-7] after Super Tiebreakers.

It also spells a bad day in the office for Emerson Jones who crashed out of girls’ singles action earlier in the day as she was sent packing home early in the quarter final.
