SERIAN: Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) play an important role in helping the school and its students to achieve high academic and non-academic success.

Bukit Semuja Assemblyman John Ilus said the high performance of each student cannot be achieved without the hard work and commitment given by the teachers, parents, and the students themselves.

“It is undeniable that the PTA helps improve the school’s achievements and performance in terms of academics, physical development, co-curriculum and the formation of successful human capital.

“Therefore, good relations and solid cooperation between parents and teachers is needed to facilitate the efforts of the students who will be the future leaders of the state and nation,” the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) said in a report.

John was speaking at the SMK Tebakang excellence award ceremony yesterday (Jan 26).

He called on students to work hard to achieve success while making a name for the school.

During the ceremony, John had also approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation for the PTA, alumni, and Togap Club of SMK Tebakang.
