KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Kuching Branch is inviting the public to take part in the ‘Run To Save Lives 3.0’ programme on June 18.

According to John Jong, the charity run is being organised in collaboration with the Kuching Book Lovers Association and the 38 Love Foundation to generate funds in tandem with the blood donation drive.

The race, he stated, aimed for 700 participants and had two categories with separate distances of three and five kilometres.

“The run will start and end at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS),” he said at a press conference after handing over the sponsorship of Run To Save Lives 3.0 at the MRCS Sarawak Kuching Branch Headquarters here, on Thursday (16 Feb).

Meanwhile, according to Jong, the PBSM Kuching Branch hopes to collect 23,000 blood bags for the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) each year.

As a result, he noted, the MRCS Sarawak Kuching Branch must raise RM100,000 every year to pay the costs of campaigning and presenting prizes as an appreciation to donors.
