Public urged to refrain from outdoor activities

MIRI: The Federation of Miri Division Chinese Associations president Datuk David Goh yesterday has urged member of the public to refrain from any outdoor activities during the movement control order (MCO) period.

He said public’s co-operations needed to ensure success in combating the disease.

Goh observed via the social media, that there are still stubborn people loitering outside their homes, ignoring the MCO.

“We must comply with the MCO, avoid loitering outside for no apparent reason and do social-distancing in order to break the chain of the virus,” he opined.

Goh pointed out that the public should take the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak seriously.

“It is serious matter, hence, the public should abide or follows the government guidelines in order to curb the spread,” he told   the New Sarawak Tribune.

Covid-19 can result in severe disease, everyone can take actions, such as practising social distancing to help slow down the spread of the virus, he said.

Goh also commended medical teams for their skills, professionalism and care given to the patients.

“They have risk their life to save others,” he said.
