Pusa in store for six high-impact projects

PUSA: About RM60 million provided for under the Betong Divisional Development Agency (BDDA) will be used to implement six high-impact projects in Pusa.
Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor said it is in line with the desire to develop the potential of Pusa District and improve the socio-economic status of the community.
“First, we will build a large open hall at Dataran Tandang Sari for various purposes so that we can encourage more people to participate in any activity.
“Since Pusa is the focus we intend to make it a trade centre which is able to market products.
“Secondly, the embankment project in front of the food court near Tanjung Pasir in Sungai Uguran, hopefully, will be started this year with an allocation of RM10 million,” he said during the opening of the Tandang Sari Regatta, Pusa 2023 here, today.
In addition, he announced plans for a mini embankment around the Muslim community cemetery near Kampung Kalok.
“The focus is to overcome the flood problem, especially due to high tides, with an allocation of RM10 million.
“We will also set up a convention centre for Pusa District with a similat expenditure.
“To support core economic activities, we will build a Tourism Discovery Centre like the one at the Sebuyau Bridge, so that we can promote tourism activities.
“As of now we also have the cooperation of Brunei Darussalam to develop Makan Tandang Sari and Dato Godam, another government plan to grow the business area,” he said.
Razaili stressed that all of these are major projects that will be implemented under the BDDA to provide great benefit to the community.
As for the embankment project in front of the food court near Tanjung Pasir, it is understood that it can be implemented this year with five more expected next year.
Batang Lupar Member of Parliament Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, Brunei Darussalam historian Dzulkifli Latif, Acting Pusa District Officer Bujang Ladi, Betong Division Chief Pi’ee Alwi and Pusa District Commissioner Awang Raziee Awang Mohd Zain were also present.
