KUCHING: The Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) has identified 442 projects worth RM17.8 billion to be implemented in areas under the agency.

Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the projects identified were the result of the RADDA laboratory held earlier.

However he said each development agency including RADDA was only allocated an initial funding of RM1.5 billion from the state government.

“The laboratory this time around was held to further understand the details of the projects that should be given priority.

“After this lab, we will prepare the paperwork for approval by the State Cabinet in September, then call all the RADDA committees for a meeting.

“It is hoped that the implementation of the identified projects can start early next year,” he said during the press conference on RADDA at Waterfront Hotel on today (Aug 30).

On the 442 projects, he disclosed that approximately 60 per cent of the projected RM17.8 billion would involve infrastructure development projects.
