KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib has donated necessities worth RM10,000 to the Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).
The contribution was presented by Astana Negeri administrative officer Zullasmie Gapor, who represented Ragad, to SSPCA president Datin Dona Drury-Wee today.
A total of 20 units of dog cages, five units of three-storey cat cages, aluminium bowls, and dry food were the items donated.
Ragad, who is an animal lover, was moved when she learned that the animal shelter was badly affected by the floods that struck Kuching recently.
The aid is expected to ease the burden of the shelter in ensuring that its condition is comfortable for the animals there.
