SIMANGGANG: The Randau Digital Komuniti is among one of the programmes that helps to bridge the digitalisation gap between the urban and rural communities.

In a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said grassroots leaders also play a vital role in digitising the community.

According to Harden, this includes providing guidance and identifying the community’s potential and challenges in developing the digital economy.

“I hope through this programme, the people will be more aware in matters related to the digital economy strategy and the latest developments in Sarawak’s digital economy,” he said at the closing ceremony of the programme held recently.

Harden, who is also Simanggang assemblyman, also called on community leaders in playing their role to guide the communities under their care. He said this includes intensifying digital initiative projects in the field of smart agriculture, e-business and e-tourism in Sri Aman Division.
