MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo is confident the Ibans of Ulu Baoh in Nanga Baoh and Ulu Mukah would continue to support the state government.

He said these voters are aware that the opposition parties are only good at making promises, especially as the next state election is near.

He said the people can appreciate the various development projects that the state government has implemented unlike the oppositions who are known to give empty promises just because they hope to be elected into power.

“In the last five years much development has been carried out, especially roads, electricity supplies, and water supplies. The water supply from the Selangau water treatment plant will soon be upgraded,” he said during ‘Ngabang 2020’ programme at Rumah Ranggi Melin Baoh Chelum, Dalat.

Among those in attendance were Penghulu Sebastian Sintan, Penghulu Ambau, Councillor Boniface Kwin, Councillor Francis Ngang Balai, Councillor Jay Keram and some village chiefs.

Yussibnosh urged the people to reject outside political parties that had negative culture based on racial and religious extremism. Instead, Sarawakians should support of the GPS government for the continuation of holistic development to make Sarawak an advanced state by 2030.

“The people are not comfortable now as the cost of living is higher than before. The country’s economic downturn has caused many foreign investors to move their investments to other countries,” he said.

He also told the people of local opposition parties that speak of taking over power from GPS, saying most of the politicians in these parties were political rejects.

“Political rejects must continue to be rejected,” he said.
