KUCHING: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has issued a notice to the owner of two units of abandoned heavy construction machinery at the parking area of a public park at Lorong Muara Tabuan 2A here.

The council said the owner has been urged to remove the vehicles from the public area within two weeks, or face impoundment by the council.

“The abandoned machines were identified as a Dynapac CP20W wheel pneumatic roller and a Mitsubishi MF44WB asphalt finisher.

“These machines were found unattended for quite some time in the park.

“In accordance with the Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By Laws, 1999, a notice has been issued and pasted on the respective vehicles for their removal,” MBKS said in a statement today.

The council said that if the owner fails to remove the vehicles within the stipulated two-week period, the council will assume that the vehicles are waste, and they will be removed from the location and disposed of accordingly.

“No claims over the vehicles will be entertained after the two-week deadline.”

The action is necessary to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in public spaces and to ensure the smooth running of the park’s parking area, MBKS said.
