MIRI: The worries of residents of Kampung Katong and its surrounding areas with overgrown trees, erosion and clogged drains in their village has attracted the attention of the authorities concerned.

Miri City Council (MCC) and Public Works Department (PWD) headed by Special Assistant to Senadin Assemblyman, Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Erick Chin went to the ground to check the problems.

Erick said he received a complaint from the villages regarding the matter.

Following the complaint, he brought MMC and PWD to see the problems and take measures to solve them.

“PWD will use its contractors to trim the tree and clear the blocked drains. For the erosion problem, PWD will investigate because they suspected that the erosion is caused by a land slide,” he told reporters yesterday.
