SERIAN: Bringing a ray of Ramadan cheer, Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem has extended financial assistance to the family of a deceased mualaf.

Following his attendance at a breaking of fast programme at the Serian Division mosque last night (Mar 22), Riot visited the three children who now reside with their aunt.

“The aid was directed towards the children of the late Muhammad Azman Frankie Abdullah from Kampung Rasau here.

“Muhammad passed away recently at Serian Hospital, while his wife had previously departed,” said Riot in a statement.

Reflecting on the importance of family ties transcending religious differences, Riot emphasised the solidarity among the siblings, despite their diverse religious backgrounds.

“No one asked for it, and no one is willing to be orphaned at such a young age,” Riot said, acknowledging the plight of Nur Arissa Maisyara, who is 15 years old, Nur Arinie Batrisyia (13), and Ammar Zakuan (10).

Riot, who himself experienced the loss of his father during his fourth-grade year, expressed empathy towards young Ammar Zakuan, seeing a reflection of his own childhood grief in the boy’s eyes.
