RM1 mln for new drainage system at Kpg Patiambun

LIMBANG: A sum of RM1 million has been allocated to build a new drainage system in Kampung Patiambun here.

Deputy Minister of Rural Development II Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, through the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Oct 18), said RM800,000 has been approved by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and another RM200,000 in Limbang constituency Rural Transformation Project (RTP) fund was allocated.

“We hope that this can solve some of the flood problems here.

“We have also asked the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) to come out with a masterplan to overcome flash flood problems in Limbang,” he said when met at Kampung Patiambun last Saturday (Oct 16).

Hasbi, who is also Limbang MP, said he had also requested DID to create a plan for Limbang town in phases to address the issue of flash floods that are becoming more frequent.

On the same day, he also inspected a completed metal bridge to Rumah Babai, Kampung Bukit Berayung which was constructed by Limbang DID.

Later, he also presented food baskets to Kampung Patiambun residents who have completed their quarantine period and handed over the corporate social responsibility (CSR) contribution from HAPM Consultants Sdn Bhd at Kampung Patiambun Darul Hidayah Surau.

At the ceremony, a total of 22 villagers received food baskets from the Village Development and Security Committee while 15 others received theirs from HAPM Consultants Sdn Bhd.

Also present were a representative from HAPM Consultants Sdn Bhd, Haffiz Baidaani Ashghaffi; Pemanca Jun Silah; Kampung Patiambun village chief Naim@Ahmad Mail and Limbang Division DID engineer Anisah Ahmad.
