JERIJIH: The government has approved an allocation of RM20 million for the Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) project here.

Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the long-delayed project would undergo a reassessment, including specifications and enhancements for each plot set to be developed.

“The improvements include preparing the sites, as well as providing essential amenities such as paved roads, electricity, and water supply,” he said at the ‘Riang Ria Aidilfitri’ ceremony with the villagers of Kampung Jerijih at its community hall yesterday (Apr 15).

Len Talif, who is the Kuala Rajang assemblyman, added that for the SPK project in Jerijih, a total of 232 new lots will be developed and to be allocated to applicants from Kampung Jerijih.

On another note, he said a sum of RM20 million has been allocated for the Resettlement Scheme (SPS) in Tanjung Manis through the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (PUSAKA).

“The SPS is specifically for individuals from outside who wish to settle and reside in Tanjung Manis,” he said.

He added, however, that the SPS will take some time to be implemented.

On the construction of the RM15 million Tanjung Manis Sports Complex, he said it will be implemented by the Matu Daro District Council (MDMD).

“This infrastructure is crucial for advancing sports development in Tanjung Manis and its surrounding areas,” he said.

Later, he also took the opportunity to inspect the site for the new village hall project in Kampung Jerijih to ensure its prompt implementation.

Among those present was Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abd Wahab.
