SERIAN: A multipurpose hall will be built in Serian’s newest village, Kampung (Kpg) Bunga Raya.

The RM200,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project will benefit as many as 200 villagers.

Serian incumbent Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem said the construction on the multipurpose hall will begin soon.

“Being the youngest village in Serian, practically all essential amenities have been installed, including electricity and water supply.

“And soon, there will also be a multipurpose hall that will provide better facilities for its dwellers,” he said when officiating at the ground-breaking ceremony of the proposed multipurpose hall site at Kpg Bunga Raya here, today (Nov 11).

The implementing contractor, who will be monitored by the Serian Public Works Department (PWD), is projected to complete the hall by March 17, 2023.

Village head Ayu Afridah thanked the Sarawak government for granting numerous applications for the development of basic infrastructure for the village.

She said that the state government, through Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), is always attentive to the needs of the community and hopes that further development will be offered in the future.
