PADAWAN: Kampung Annah Sadir youth have received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totalling RM40,000 from Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil for their programmes and activities.

Dr Jerip said half of the grants distributed (RM20,000) was the MRP allocation for this year while another RM20,000, approved for 2025, was for organising their programmes and activities in the future.

The deputy minister, who is also Mambong assemblyman, told the youth to organise sports activities to strengthen friendships and camaraderie among the younger generation.

“Besides strengthening friendships, such activities can also keep youth away from engaging in unhealthy activities such as drug related activities,” he said.

Dr Jerip spoke at the opening ceremony of the 5th Edition of the 9-a-sides Football Tournament organised by Kampung Annah Sadir youth on Sunday.

To strengthen sports activities in the Annah Sadir area, he urged the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the youth in the village to identify a suitable area to develop a sports complex.
