SARATOK: The final stages of the Surau Darul Muafiqin’s construction in Taman Seroja Indah are underway, with an allocation of RM400,000 to support its completion.
“I am pleased to report that I had the opportunity to assess the construction’s progress today, and it is physically near completion.
“The surau management committee is currently awaiting electrical connection, which is currently in the application process,” Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said after his visit to the construction site on Wednesday (Aug 16).
The surau’s construction, initiated in April last year, is being funded through the Rural Transformation Programme.
In the course of his visit, discussions transpired with the surau management committee, addressing several suggestions.
“The primary focus is to ensure the swift usability of the surau. For the pending electrical connection, I will liaise with Sarawak Energy Berhad for subsequent action.
“Elements such as fences, parking areas and minarets will be considered and implemented gradually over time.”
Upon completion, Mohamad envisions the mosque becoming a hub of community activities for the neighbourhood’s benefit.
