RM650k RTP grant to build agricultural roads in Tebedu

TEBEDU: Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada has provided an allocation of RM650,000 through his Rural Transformation Project (RTP) funds to build agricultural roads in the area.

According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the project under the supervision of the Serian Division Drainage and Irrigation Department, involved Kampung Temong Mawang, Kampung Temong Bangan and Kampung Entubuh.

According to Dr Simon, the projects were his promise during the 12th Sarawak Election campaign to continue building infrastructure in the Tebedu constituency.

For the second phase, he would be focusing on upgrading the socioeconomic status of rural folk through agriculture.

“Once the road is completed, it will provide an opportunity for landowners to build residential houses or open up land with various types of commercial crop.”

The handover was held at the three project sites and witnessed by Tebedu District officer Joseph Liaw on Wednesday (July 13).

In another development, Dr Simon also handed RTP grants to Kampung Tebedu Mawang, Kampung Tesa Mawang and Kampung Daha Kisau.

The Kampung Tebedu Mawang project is for a 1.1km agricultural road upgrading project in Puah, Tebedu Mawang worth RM200,000.

Another project is to build a new 845m agricultural road in Kampung Tesu Mawang/Kura at a cost of RM150,000.

Meanwhile, Kampung Daha Kisau involves a project to install a 152m riverbank gabion amounting to RM300,000.

All the projects are under the RTP Project Series 1/2022 and the monitoring and supervision work will be assisted by the Tebedu District Office.
