RM700,000 in upgrades for PDRM facilities in Sibu

SIBU: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) facilities here will be upgraded with RM700,000 allocated for the purpose under the 2024 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Pelawan constituency.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee said this involves four projects at the Sibu district police headquarters and two other police stations.

Among them is the rebuilding of the Taman Rejang police station and upgrading facilities at the Sungai Merah Police Station, both involving a total cost of RM200,000.

“For the Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD), I also approved the construction of a children’s playground (RM100,000) and, upon the request of Sibu Police Chief, the rebuilding of the Gazebo (RM200,000),” he said.

He said this in his speech at the Quran recitation and breaking of fast ceremony with the Sibu Police Chief at the Darul Huda Mosque, IPD Sibu here last night (March 28).

The Pelawan assemblyman also expressed his commitment to support the police force in Sibu.

“This initiative aims to strengthen infrastructure and facilities and support the efforts of the police force to provide excellent service to the community in Sibu,” he said.

Also present were Sibu Police Chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, and others.
