LIMBANG: The Sarawak government has allocated RM9.28 million for additional allowances to 2,579 Al-Quran and Fardhu Ain (KAFA) teachers in the state.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that this funding reflects the state government’s dedication to recognise KAFA teachers’ efforts.

“Each KAFA teacher will receive an additional RM300 monthly starting next year,” he said at the recent KAFA appreciation ceremony.

The speech, delivered on his behalf by Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, outlined the programme’s goals. These include celebrating KAFA members’ achievements, raising awareness about religious education, fostering affection for KAFA teachers, and strengthening community ties.

The event also honoured individuals and institutions with several awards, such as the Best UPKK Student Award 2022, Excellent KAFA Teacher Award 2022, and others, acknowledging their contributions to the KAFA community.
