MIRI: Jalan North Yu Seng and Jalan Merpati, half of Jalan Persekutuan, Jalan Kipas, Jalan Sylvia and Jalan Parry will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic on November 23 from 6 am to 12 pm.
The road closures are part of Miri Car Free Day, an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and reducing traffic congestion.
The Miri City Council, in a statement today (Nov 16), also reminded vehicle owners to plan ahead and consider alternative routes to reach their destinations during the half-day road closure.
To assist drivers, traffic wardens will be stationed and clear diversion road signs will be set up at the sites.
Due to the anticipated influx of visitors for the event, parking spaces will be limited. Attendees are encouraged to park at Jalan Ansellia, Jalan Zinnia, Jalan Calliandra, Jalan Helenium and Jalan Unus car parks.
In support of the global effort to minimise traffic and enhance air quality through eco-friendly commuting, Miri Car Free Day will feature a range of activities.
These include a light musical exercise session, a fun walk, telematch games and exciting lucky draws.
