SERIAN: An allocation of RM150 million has been approved to construct a new road from Kampung Temong to Kampung Sibakar in Tebedu.

Tebedu Assemblyman Dr. Simon Sinang Bada said the project aims to connect Bandar Mutiara Tebedu to the surrounding villages.

“After the construction is completed, it will provide an opportunity for land cultivation that can boost the economic sector in Bandar Mutiara Tebedu,” he said.

He was speaking at Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat in conjunction with the launch of a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project at St. Simon’s Church in Kampung Tepoi on Saturday.

He said construction work would commence as early as next year.

Additionally, Dr. Simon announced an allocation of RM15,000 to St. Simon’s Church for the installation of air conditioning, upgrading of roads to the cemetery, farm roads, and the construction of gabions.

Meanwhile, he urged the residents of Kampung Tepoi to survey Native Customary Rights (NCR) land through the Tebedu branch of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) to avoid disputes in the village.
