KUCHING: Sarawak Energy is set to harness the extensive expertise of its retirees, through the establishment of the ‘Retirees of Sarawak Energy’ (ROSE).

According to the company’s group chief executive officer, Datuk Sharbini Suhaili, this new initiative aimed at maintaining engagement with former employees.

“The retirees, with decades of service, have been instrumental in the organisation’s success and its commitment to excellence,” he said during the Retirees Appreciation Dinner at Riverside Majestic Hotel Puteri Wing here recently.

The event, which saw an attendance of about 700 guests, including nearly 400 retirees, celebrated the significant contributions of these past employees.

“In celebrating our workforce’s achievements, we recognise the invaluable commitment and insights our retirees have contributed. Their involvement has been vital in shaping our current workforce, predominantly comprising Sarawakians,” he added.

ROSE is designed as a digital platform to connect and serve as an information resource for the company’s extensive network of over 900 retirees. It will keep former employees updated on activities, announcements, and changes in medical benefits.
