Mini KUD @ Kota Samarahan will be organise on Feb 1 to 4.

KUCHING: The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) will launch the Mini Rural Entrepreneurs Development Programme (Mini KUD) @ Kota Samarahan from February 1 to 4.

Hosted at Samarahan Square, this event will feature the collaboration of five KKDW agencies – Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Sarawak Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA), Community Development Department (KEMAS), Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) Berhad, and Penang Regional Development Authority (PERDA). Various local organisations will also participate.

In a statement, the KKDW anticipates the four-day programme to draw around 10,000 visitors each day, with an expected sales transaction total of RM300,000.

More than 100 rural entrepreneurs, encompassing food vendors, small-scale traders, and local artisans, will be showcasing a diverse range of products and services.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural Development and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is scheduled to officiate at the event on February 2 at 3 pm accompanied by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang.

The event will feature an array of engaging activities, such as petting zoos, cooking competitions, and guest artist performances from renowned artists like Ella and Hafiz Suip.
